This team effort approach sponsors educational outreach programs throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Emphasizing the impact of human actions on wildlife and what we can do to benefit our natual resources.
Pine View Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center is an organization founded in 1981 by Dr. Jeannie Lord and her family.
It is a non-profit organization staffed by 25 volunteers dedicated to the rehabilitation and preservation of Wisconsin’s wildlife and environment. It is also committed to the education of individuals regarding the significance of co-existing with wildlife and working towards a sustainable future for all.
Services We Offer
Pine View is fully credited and licensed by both the state of Wisconsin and the federal government. The Center receives no funding from the state, federal, county, or city agencies and therefore is fully dependent on membership, donations, grants and special event fundraiser to pay for daily operations.
-
Pine View specializes in birds-of-prey (hawks, owls, eagles, falcons), predatory mammals (fox, coyote, badger), reptiles and amphibians, to include endangered. We continue to provide educational outreach programs, consulting, and research to benefit wildlife and the environment.
-
Pine View specializes in birds of prey, reptiles and predatory mammals. Injured or orphaned species are referred to Pine View by concerned citizens, law enforcement, DNR, local humane societies and other agencies. When required, the Center’s trained staff will travel to local communities and resuce an injured mammal, bird or reptile. Pine View is grateful to have local veterinarians who donate time to assist in diagnosing and treatment for the wildlife patients.
-
Releasing a patient back to the wild is a very special occasion at Pine View. Nothing is more rewarding for the Center’s staff and volunteers than to observe the transformation of a rehabilitated owl fly off into the woods, a fox scamper down the woodland pathway, or a turtle slowly re-enter the familiar waterways of a pond.
-
Pine View has been serving as an educational resource to members of Wisconsin communities for over 40 years. Featuring educational birds and reptiles, programs are presented to classrooms, clubs, social and service organizations. Emphasis is on raising awareness and fostering responsibility towards the environment. Presentations teach individuals about natural history, behaviors and uniqueness of our natural resources in an effort to further sustainability.
