Bald Eagle Transfer Patient
The wildlife department at the Wisconsin Humane Society admitted an adult bald eagle. Suspected of being hit by a car or flying into something significant, this eagle had a fracture and dislocated coracoid. (sternum to shoulder) Our Bald Eagle Patient kept us on our toes with visits to the Little Animal Hospital in Port Washington, WI with Dr. Brian Rollmann. After four weeks of limited mobility, hand feeding and cage cleaning, we moved the eagle to an outdoor enclosure, where she continues to heal. Her prognosis is still to be determined by Pine View’s licensed staff and Dr. Rollmann. Bald eagles can consume multiple pounds and varieties of food sources each week. Your support to Pine View is greatly appreciated and used to treat patients like this Bald Eagle.
Kristen, our Hospital Manager, works with Dr. Rollmann and Staff to x-ray and reevaluate the Bald Eagle.
